Energy Generation Infrastructure

In the consortium project “Energy generation and infrastructure”, the CBI, together with Hochtief and Eurovia, will identify possibilities for regenerative energy generation in the area of road infrastructure. Based on this, suitable application scenarios (locations, consumers) will be developed for selected applications and examined with regard to a practicable application (load curves, grid savings, utilization). The goal is the development of economic application concepts. The project is scientifically supported by the Institute of Highway Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. In addition, the Institute for High Voltage Equipment and Grids, Digitalization and Energy Economics at RWTH Aachen University is supporting this promising project.

Sustainability assessment of transport infrastructure out of town

In the consortium project „Sustainability assessment of transport infrastructure out ouf town“ the CBI will work together with the DGNB, Hochtief, Echterhoff, Heitkamp and Nesseler to develop findings on the sustainability assessment of road construction infrastructure. These findings will later lead to holistic sustainability criteria that will be incorporated into a certification system for sustainable transport infrastructure. Scientific support for the project is being provided by the Institute of Sustainability in Civil Engineering und dem Institute of Highway Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. In addition, the project is supported by Autobahn GmbH.
