For some time now, the CBI has been working intensively on prefabricated building construction, especially in the project “Standardisation of prefabricated building construction”. In this context, the “Practical guide to requirements for components of room cell buildings as steel supporting structures for reasons of fire protection” has already been developed jointly with the members  ALHO, Kleusberg, ALGECO, Bolle, Containerwerk eins, ELA Container, Moravia Containers, ProContain, SÄBU, Zeppelin Rental, AMTRA, BFT Cognos and Cadolto and dem Ministry for regional identity, local government, building and digitalization of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Based on this, so-called construction characteristics were elaborated in accordance with the timber construction guideline in the course of further cooperation.

The next step was this research project, in which several fire tests are to be carried out on entire prefabricated buildings under ETK conditions and under load.

In the consortium and research project “Conducting large-scale fire tests of prefabricated buildings under ETK conditions to prove room closure”, which is funded by the Ministry for regional identity, communities and localgovernment, building and gender equality of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia (MHKBD), the CBI will conduct the investigations together with the consortium partners, which are also providing part of the funding, ALHO, CMS, Kleusberg, ALGECO, Bolle, ELA Container, Moravia Containers, SÄBU, Zeppelin Rental, AMTRA, Cadolto, KB Container and C+P Modulbau. The investigations will be carried out by the Materialprüfungsamt Nordrhein-Westfalen (MPA NRW) and supported by BFT Cognos and the Institute of Steel Construction at RWTH Aachen University.

The project is funded by the Ministry for regional identity, communities and localgovernment, building and gender equality of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia  via the Düsseldorf district government with funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The members of the consortium are taking over a share. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all project partners and consortium members for their excellent cooperation and support.
