On 10.05. and 11.05.23 the CBI invited all members to the 9th members’ meeting at the event location DAS LIEBIG in Aachen. The focus of the event was on the presentation of (interim) results of ongoing consortium projects and the initiation of new projects. The personal and interdisciplinary exchange was intensively perceived. The event was supported from the scientific side by the Institute of Steel Construction, the Institute of Highway Engineering, the Institute of Structural Concrete, the Institute of Building Materials Research, the Institute of High Voltage Equipment and Grids, Digitalization and Energy Economics and the Institute of Sustainability in Civil Engineering (all RWTH Aachen University). Furthermore, the meeting was accompanied by Dr Lukas Renken of ISAC GmbH<\/a> and Mr Johannes Br\u00f6hl of the Ministry for regional identity, local government, building and digitalization of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia (MHKBD)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the beginning, all members and participants were welcomed by Prof. Markus Feldmann and Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Carl Richter and introduced to current topics of the CBI.<\/p>\n

After the lunch break, the participants met in different meeting rooms within the framework of their consortium projects. There, the corresponding results of the consortium studies were presented and discussed. These included the projects:<\/p>\n

– Standardisation of prefabricated building construction<\/p>\n

– Planning aid for prefabricated bridge construction<\/p>\n

– Energy Infrastructure<\/p>\n

– Serial refurbishment<\/p>\n

– Sustainability of prefabricated building construction<\/p>\n

– Sustainability Infrastructure<\/p>\n

– Joining techniques of reinforced precast concrete elements<\/p>\n

– PU \/ DBBD<\/p>\n

On the second day, the moderation was taken over by Mr Benjamin Camps, who will take over the position as Managing Director of the CBI from 1 July 2023. We started with company presentations by the three CBI members Zeppelin Rental, Frauenrath and CMS. The three CBI members were thus able to address current challenges in the construction industry. We would like to thank Mr Thomas Bainsky (Zeppelin Rental<\/a>), Mr Arndt Frauenrath (Frauenath<\/a>) and Mr Andreas Stefes (CMS<\/a>) in particular for these presentations.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the various projects were presented in the plenum and discussed with the participants. The following projects should be mentioned as examples at this point:<\/p>\n

– Optimisation of sandwich fa\u00e7ades with concrete cover layers<\/p>\n

– Research project “Performance of large-scale fire tests of prefabricated buildings under ETK conditions to prove room closure”<\/p>\n

– Sustainability assessment of infrastructure<\/p>\n

– Joining techniques of reinforced precast concrete elements<\/p>\n

– Sustainability of prefabricated building construction<\/p>\n

– Planning aid for prefabricated bridge construction<\/p>\n

– CO2 reduction through congestion avoidance<\/p>\n

– Standardisation of prefabricated building construction<\/p>\n

– Energy generation Infrastructure<\/p>\n

– RoMaSys: Detection of microplastic emissions from road markings<\/p>\n

– Serial rehabilitation<\/p>\n

– PU asphalt on continuously reinforced concrete pavement<\/p>\n

After a break, we continued with our workshops. Here, our participants were allowed to take advantage of the opportunity to take part in various thematic discussion rounds focusing on structural engineering, bridge construction and road construction.<\/p>\n

We are pleased that the 9th members’ meeting could take place in this form and would like to take this opportunity to thank the location DAS LIEBIG for providing the premises and the first-class service! Furthermore, we would like to thank all speakers and participants for their support and, of course, all members (Algeco<\/a>, ALHO<\/a>, AMTRA<\/a>, BASF<\/a>, BFT Cognos<\/a>, BOLLE<\/a>, Cadolto<\/a>, CMS<\/a>, Containerwerk<\/a>, Dow<\/a>, Echterhoff<\/a>, ELA Container<\/a>, Eurovia<\/a>, Filigran<\/a>, Frauenrath<\/a>, H+P Ingenieure<\/a>, Hentschke Bau<\/a>, Hochtief<\/a>, KB Container<\/a>, Kleusberg<\/a>, Leviat<\/a>, nesseler<\/a>, PROCONTAIN<\/a>, R\u00f6hm<\/a>, S\u00e4bu<\/a>, Solidian<\/a>, Swarco<\/a> und Zeppelin Rental<\/a>) who contributed so constructively during these two days!<\/p>\n
