Successful 6th large-scale fire test in prefabricated buildings: a milestone for research

This week, we successfully carried out the 6th large-scale fire test as part of the consortium and research project “Conducting large-scale fire tests of prefabricated buildings under ETK conditions to proof room closure” at the MPA NRW in the Erwitte fire testing centre. This project, funded by the Ministry for regional identity, local government, building and digitalization of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia (#MHKBD), is investigating, among other things, the room closure of prefabricated buildings under ETK conditions.

Following the first successful tests on fire-retardant components and connections, we have now tested the room closure and the panel integrity to protect the steel structure for fire-resistant constructions. We are proud that our test not only achieved the required time of 90 minutes, but exceeded it.
