Last week, Benjamin Camps gave an exciting presentation on the current developments in the development of a guideline for steel prefabricated building construction at the ‘Fire protection at the centre of attention 2024’ conference in Erwitte. The presentation took a closer look at the challenges and solutions involved in planning and conducting large-scale fire tests on prefabricated buildings and the draft guideline based on the results. These tests play a key role in demonstrating the current performance of prefabricated buildings in terms of fire resistance and room closure.
This event, organised by FeuerTrutz and the MPA NRW, offers a successful combination of theory and practice. After the specialist presentations in the morning, participants had the opportunity to take part in a large-scale fire test at the MPA NRW fire test centre. This practical demonstration showed how various building materials, products and types are tested under realistic conditions. The test objects included fire doors, pipe penetrations and shaft wall elements.
We are proud to have been part of this event and would like to thank you for the invitation and the successful organisation. Many thanks also to all participants for the exciting discussions and valuable dialogue.
